About the Project
The project’s goal was to develop a highly interactive gaming experience where event attendees could physically play pickleball using real-life gestures detected by Microsoft Kinect sensors. The court was fully customized to reflect Whispering Angel’s brand identity — from colors and logos to animated crowd visuals.
Key Feature : Gesture-Based Gameplay
The core feature of the Whispering Angel pickleball game was its real-time motion tracking, which seamlessly translated players’ physical swings into precise on-screen paddle movements. Powered by Kinect’s depth sensors and skeletal tracking, the system ensured responsive and accurate control, capturing every gesture with minimal latency. This allowed players to experience natural and intuitive gameplay, whether performing forehands, backhands, or powerful smashes, creating a lifelike sporting experience in a virtual environment
To heighten engagement, the game delivered instant visual feedback through real-time score updates and rally streak indicators, keeping the energy high throughout each match. The immersive beach-themed court, fully adorned with Whispering Angel’s branding across sidelines, banners, and scoreboards, blended competitive fun with strong brand presence, making the experience both memorable and visually captivating.

Rather than creating a standard virtual game, we designed a fully branded, event-ready experience that transforms physical gestures into engaging, lifelike pickleball gameplay. Every element—from the responsive Kinect-based controls to the vibrant, beach-inspired court—was tailored to reflect Whispering Angel’s identity, ensuring the interaction felt both premium and on-brand. This fusion of technology, design, and marketing not only entertained players but also deepened their emotional connection to the brand, making the activation a centerpiece of any event.
